Markus Flik
studied mechanical engineering in Stuttgart/Germany, Zurich/Switzerland, and Berkley/California, where he was awarded his doctorate in 1989. After his studies, he worked in research and taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 1992 Flik started his career at Behr, first as head of strategic planning and later as head of the advanced engineering and product development departments of the Air Conditioning division. He was appointed to the board of management in 1997 in which position he was responsible for R&D and the Engine Cooling Product Division until mid 2003. Markus Flik has been CEO since July 1, 2003 and Chairman of the Board of Management since June 2006. In addition he is responsible for research and development of the Behr Group. He is also a member of various advisory boards for research institutes and scientific journals.

Colin Carter,
who was born in England, studied languages in Londonand business administration in Bradford. He has been working in Germany since 1986. On April 1, 2004, he was appointed to Behr’s board of management in which position he assumed responsibility for sales and the customer centers. Carter was employed by ITT Automotive for 15 years, and spent the last four years working for ZF Lenksysteme, a joint venture founded by Bosch and ZF Friedrichshafen, as member of the board responsible for marketing and sales.




Wolfgang Schäfer
studied business administration in Munichand Münster and later earned an MBA at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. After working at several different companies, including Robert Bosch, Mr. Schäfer joined Behr in 2001 as member of the board of management. In his current position as Group CFO, he is responsible for financial and controlling functions, purchasing, HR and IT. He is also CEO of Behr Germany.







Klemens Schmiederer
Prior to joining Behr in 1987, Klemens Schmiederer studied aeronautical and aerospace engineering in Stuttgart and earneda Master of Science during a semester abroad in London. Since then he has held various technical positions in advanced engineering and product development as well as in the Engine Cooling and Air Conditioning Product Divisions. He also served as chief engineer, product development, at Behr America for four years and directed the Air Conditioning Product Line Germany/Overseas until mid 2003. Mr. Schmiederer joined the board of management on July 1, 2003, and is responsible for the Air Conditioning Product Division.



Andreas Thumm
studied process engineering at the University of Stuttgart and was awarded a PhD from the Institute of Aerodynamics and Gas Dynamics. An employee at Behr since 1991, he started out in product development and then spent four years in the USA as a project manager, and later customer center manager/chief engineer. In 1998 Thumm was put in charge of the engine cooling product lines and managed the truck product line and components product group within the Engine Cooling Division until mid 2003. On July 1, 2003, Thumm was appointed to the board of management and is responsible for the Engine Cooling Division.
