Joint ventures and development partnerships help us to extend our range of future-oriented products and to raise customer loyalty further. Founding joint ventures gives us favorable starting conditions in key regions, such as Asia.

In a well-functioning partnership, everyone's a winner. This also applies to Behr’s alliances. We work together in an open, fair, and trustworthy manner.Common, clear goals are essential for successful cooperation. Cooperation works best with companies whose strategy, company culture and structure are similar to ours. Continuous coordination between the partners is especially important for cooperation. Even when the goals are clear, varying priorities, work approaches, and mentalities must be reconciled. This requires intensive communication and a high level of attention from management.

Products
We create noticeable added value for our customers by developing systems together with them.Automotive manufacturers not only receive finely tuned systems, but also clearly more development and conceptual work than each partner could ever produce alone. At the same time, automotive manufacturers are able to reduce their coordination expenses. Previously, two or more suppliers had to be managed. In a joint venture, there is now only one contact person, for example at HBPO, where Hella, Plastic Omnium, and Behr join forces.

Opening up new markets
We are present wherever our customers need us. Following this strategy, we have laid the foundation for our presence in Asia. Since 1997, we have been active in India with our joint venture with Anand in India and have been present along with Hella and Samlip in Korea since 2002. Our two joint ventures in China , founded at the end of 2003 and 2004 are the consequential continuation of our growth strategy. In Asia, it is especially important to have an experienced partner at your side. Our experience shows that, particularly in Asia, market entry for foreign companies is easier and more successful via joint ventures with local partners.
